Wham! Created by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, Wham! stands out as one of the most successful pop music duos of the 80s. Their debut album, Fantastic, charted at number one in the United Kingdom and made them well known in the country. The album addressed problems in the United Kingdom, such as unemployment. In 1984, they unveiled Make It Big, which helped them gain global recognition. The album charted at number one in the United States and the United Kingdom. They also managed to chart in the top ten of other countries. Quickly, Wham! became icons of the 80s, amazing fans around the world. Hits like "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," "Everything She Wants," and "Careless Whisper" became classics in music history. These songs became widely used in many movies. Ranging from commercials to movies, Wham!’s songs were featured and brought smiles upon audiences’ faces when they heard the tune. To this day, many movies love to choose these songs for their films, which shows how their music has not died. Upon the duo’s breakup, they released “The Edge of Heaven” as their farewell message and released an album titled The Final, which was composed of all their greatest hits. Although Wham!’s music is from decades ago, their music continues to live through generations and will continue to do so for generations to come.
