A Dash for Food

By Alessandra Kelly

Recently, the topic of food has been a somewhat difficult discussion to have amongst family members. The question constantly remains, “What to eat?” or even, “Should we order takeout or make food at home?” If you remain at the point where your mother’s mac n’ cheese isn’t doing anything for you anymore, try DoorDash!

I understand, I remained skeptical at first as I almost constantly worried that one day a “dasher” would end up plotting a murder versus an order, however, all remains well!

DoorDash is a company which connects hungry individuals to the best eats in the city! Starting with just door-to-door delivery, DoorDash has recently reached to do more in trying to connect people and to build stronger communities, all through the help of Project DASH. According to the DoorDash resource page, “$165 billion worth of food is wasted every year. 16 million U.S. households go hungry.” Through Project DASH, DoorDash not only provides meal donations for those less fortunate, but commits to reducing food waste in the industry. Through the process, DoorDash takes unused ingredients and meals left at various restaurants and instead provides food to the less fortunate.

Overall, if there’s any food you are desperate to try, and it’s available, go for it! Allow yourself to be “pampered” once in a while. DoorDash for the win!
